Audio Mjao is Christian Niva of Sweden. His previous mp3ep, ...From the Black Lake (Corporate Identity), conquered our tbtmohq playlist less than a month after we made contact with the guy, and it became an obsession from there. Often really, really clever & catchy, yeah, but more than that his stuff is unique, diverse, & interesting. When he proposed this Punk Love release, originally meant as a two-song single, we jumped on the opportunity to run with it and worked to built it up with other loose tracks of his we had heard and were already hooked on. So here's your next killer Audio Mjao ep, world. You may find yourself playing this ep ten times straight for days on end. This is normal. It's fairly short (13.6 minutes, 5 songs) and it's like candy. Just go with it, you need your fix. Don't forget to download Audio Mjao's previous ep from the link above.

I told myself only to write about music that has been in my playlist repeatedly or regularly, and that excludes new music. But here I simply have to make an exception. The "old" Swede who forced me to break this rule is called Audio Mjao (Christian Carl Niva). Already his first release, From The Black Lake... (on Corpid) enraptured me very much. But the new Punk Love Ep surely needs no comparison to his predecessor. The distorted, somehow monotonous voice, in addition to that hippy easy beat and the nevertheless melodic, suffering harmony, wow, all in all it is something special. A marriage of punk with electronic music, who would have thought that?

"Punk Love" is second and last EP of our the new and
mysterious hero, and is releasable from the situated one of the
tag of Philadelphia TBTMO (www.tbtmo.com). Constructed on the
same characteristics of the debut, that is basic beat chasing,
crystalline harmonies catchy and, candid voice, monotona and leggermente
leaked, the new job adds to the universe of Mjao Audio one greater
cure for the detail and the agreements, approaching it of some
meter in more the center of the track from dance, where all laugh
and they are amused.

There are artists, I am really happy if they bring out a new release.
This is happen with this artist:: Audio Mjao (behind this is Christian
Niva from Sweden). The Punk Love ep follows up the fantastic ...From
The Black Lake, released at the Corpid netlabel. Beautiful minimalistic
tracks. and a voice, who sounds in a way monotone and bored that
it's almost inflaming again. The tracks are often too short for
me, like the fantastic "Aurora Hunting". But in these
short tracks there are always the power. And this is definitely
with these tracks. Audio Mjao's Punk Love ep is an absolute recommendation
and shows that there are some hidden masterpieces in the netaudio
section :)
